Time Warp 37th Anniversary Sale 9/25-26

We’re turning 37 this year, can you believe it? And as a way of showing our thanks we’re giving some savings to all of you who’ve helped us keep our doors open all these years. On September 25th and 26th only we’ll be having 50% off of regular back issues, 20% off of statues, and 15% off of silver/bronze age books. Thanks again for all of your support and we hope to see you there!

Time Warp Exclusive Primordial cover

To celebrate our anniversary, we’ve teamed up with the illustrious Jorge Corona to put out an exclusive cover for Primordial #1. For those of you who haven’t seen the solicit yet, here’s the elevator pitch:

In 1957, the USSR launched the dog, Laika, into Earth’s orbit. Two years later, the USA responded with two monkeys, Able and Baker. These animals never returned. But, unbeknownst to everyone, they did not die in orbit…they were taken. And now they are coming home.

If you like Gideon falls, Jeff Lemire, spy thrillers, sci-fi mysteries, or cute animals you’ll like this one. If you have no strong opinions about any of those, you’ll still probably like this one. If you hate all of those, honestly I just wanna meet you because that’s a very strange and specific set of things to not enjoy.

In the near future we should have some extra information on a signing for this issue, as well as what we’ll be doing to celebrate our anniversary. Stay tuned, Time Warpers!

Weather Closure 3/14

Time Warp will be closed on Sunday, 3/14/21 due to snow and road conditions. As of now we don’t plan to be closed 3/15, but if that plan changes we will send an update out via our website, email, and all social media.

Stay warm and drive safe.

UPDATED 3/3, comics will be available today

UPDATE 3/3

Hello everyone, we have received this week’s shipment from Diamond and we are working on it as I type. We’ll update our social media when everything is done, but everything should be ready within the next couple of hours (it is nearly noon at time of writing).

Original post:

Diamond Comics is currently working through their backlog of books delayed by last week’s weather. Because of this, they haven’t shipped out our new books for this week yet. Right now, we aren’t sure when books will come in. As soon as we know more, we’ll be telling you what we know on all social media channels.

As a reminder, we did get in last week’s comics on Friday afternoon. If you haven’t been in since then, there are new-to-you books on the self and ready to be browsed.

Also, we’d like to personally thank all of our friends and customers for being so patient and caring about this whole ordeal. Having to give this sort of bad news is always hard on us, and having people be so understanding helps everyone on staff stay a little more sane.

UPDATED 2/23: Comics Shipping Delay for the Week of 2/24

Due to bad winter weather, comics from Diamond are delayed, and we do not presently know when we’ll have them available for sale. We’ll be updating all social media and this post we know more.

Original post:

Due to bad winter weather, comics for next week will be delayed. According to Diamond, next weeks comics will arrive in store at the earliest on the 24th. So expect that we’ll be able to have comics out for sale in the late afternoon on the 24th at the earliest. We’ll be updating all social media as we know more.

Also, this delay won’t affect DC books, because they’re distributed through Lunar.

A Giving Time of Year

Winter is coming. For some people that means celebrations, gifts, and warm fireplaces. For others, it means one of the coldest, hardest times of the year.

Here at Time Warp, we count ourselves lucky that we’re able to support charities that ease the burden on folks a bit. We’re a drop off point for the 4th Annual Cosplay Toy & Food Drive. There’s an Event if you’re comfortable meeting up in person, but if you can’t or shouldn’t then we’re more than happy to take donations on their behalf. We can also do socially distanced car drop off if you’re not comfortable coming in the store. Just call us at 303-443-4500 and leave your donations outside your car in the Time Warp parking lot and we’ll come out and pick them up for you.

Charitable giving has been at the same time both much more necessary and much harder this year. Homelessness, joblessness, and food insecurity are real threats for a great many more people, the mass action needed to provide aid are harder than ever, and those already in need find themselves in the awful position where seeking out shelter or support can be dangerous on its own. Do what you can, when you can.

“That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt, a real superhero.” -Stan Lee

Returning to Normal

With stay at home orders ending across the country, it’s important to us that everyone know what the current situation is at Time Warp. We’ve received dozens of calls and emails asking for information, so here’s the stuff you need to know:

  • Time Warp’s hours are normal hours for the foreseeable future. That’s 10am-7pm on Tuesday through Friday, 10am-6pm on Saturday and Monday, and 11am-6pm on Sunday.
  • Time Warp is open to the public for anyone willing to wear a mask and observe social distancing in store. Masks and distancing are a Boulder city ordinance, so we can’t let you in store without a mask.
  • We disinfect all surfaces regularly handled by customers or staff in the store. That includes counters, door handles, pens, keyboards, mice, and sink handles. When you’re signing a receipt, there’s a bin of disinfected pens and a bin of used pens.
  • Car pickup and shipping are still options for anyone uncomfortable with or unable to come in to the store.
  • New comics are shipping out from all publishers now. Release dates have been delayed and adjusted, so ask if you don’t know when something you care about is coming out. We’ll be posting a list of upcoming comics on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
  • Previews are available again. Marvel has switched back to being in the main previews catalog, and DC has gone digital only. Here is a link to DC previews on PreviewsWorld.com
  • We’re always open to new ideas and to accommodating any safety needs you may have. This FAQ will be updated with any additional info or precautions as we improve our strategy.

Closing Early March 20th

Given the weather and the virus, Time Warp will be closing early today, Friday the 20th. We’ll be open ’till 6 P.M.

We’ll be keeping you posted with any other hours changes that may happen in the near future, either because we felt the need to reduce hours or because of any state or federal responses to the virus. Any changes will be on here, on our instagram, and on our facebook.
